Why Kevin Love Deserves to Leave the Minnesota Timberwolves

Kevin Love’s “people” reportedly told the team this past week that they should trade him, or he will leave via free agency after his contract expires. Love has one year left on his deal with Minnesota, then a player option for the following year.

Mitch Lawrence of the New York Daily News:

Kevin Love’s people reiterated to the Timberwolves this past week that they had better trade him or else he’ll leave via free agency when his contract is up after next season. With Love looking to exit, there’s your No. 1 reason the T-wolves have not been able to find a head coach to take over for Rick Adelman. Love wants to play for the Lakers but he’s also open to coming to the Knicks.

The Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns are among many teams that have expressed interest in acquiring the 6’10” big man.

One executive told Yahoo Sports. “For the first time, Saunders (T-Wolves President of Basketball Operations) sounds like looking at deals for Love is an option.”
